Miss Jennie
Mrs. Jennie Mentz is our Finch and Kinderbird teacher. Her two children are Meridian Hills Co-op alumni. She spent time studying Early Childhood Education at Indiana University Bloomington. She is an experienced caregiver leading weekly playgroups and assisting at a local play-based daycare. As a Parent and Family coach she has spent the past few years helping families establish peaceful, responsive relationships using positive parenting strategies, non-violent communication, and solution focused thinking. She is passionate about play-based education, social emotional learning, and supporting parents as they create a safe environment for their children to be curious, explore, and develop confidence.
Jennie lives in Broad Ripple with her husband, two kiddos Emilie (11) and Logan (7), chickens, 2 cats and a tank full of tropical fish.
Outside of school she loves being outdoors, especially camping with her family. She is also a Girl Scout leader and a board member for her neighborhood association. Jennie loves to read and is always trying to learn something new, she also enjoys knitting, crocheting, listening to podcasts, and playing board and card games with her friends and family.
