Join us for an insightful event with guest speaker Dr. Jennifer Pleasure, Psy.D. on navigating “Transitions! Managing Big and Little Changes in Families with Young Children.”
Children and families experience lots of important transitions during the infant and preschool years, and these changes, while exciting, can also create worry and stress for parents and children alike. For adults, the transition to parenthood is one of life’s greatest and most challenging shifts. For children, each stage of development represents a transition, as do external factors such as going to school, the arrival of a new sibling, changes in the family structure, and even moving homes. With guidance and support, parents can ease the stresses of big (and little!) life transitions, for their children, and for themselves. Dr. Pleasure will offer strategies to help parents anticipate the challenges of transition with their children, and to plan how to help themselves and their children manage during stressful times.
